MYKONOS04
BACKAbout the project
Residential Complex on Mykonos Island, Cyclades, Greece
Planting area: 7 ha
Completion of the study: 2004
Planting period: March-May 2004
Planted: 193 trees / 93,756 shrubs and perennials
The planting design reflects endemic and native plant communities representing sclerophyllic – maquis and garrigue groups as found throughout the Cycladic islands. An ecological approach was followed in order to recreate the preexisting natural ecosystem which had been degraded through years of overgrazing and erosion. The gardens at maturity have become autonomous as a natural ecosystem.
